THE WILDHORSE SINGERS
The Wildhorse Singers are a northern style drum group based out of Los Angeles, California. They formed in 1989, and their group consists of members from various tribes. They have traveled and sang at many pow wows throughout Indian country and have performed at a variety of charity events, fundraisers, Indian Centers, schools (from elementary to university), museums, businesses and major corporations.
As a group they work very closely with their community and dedicate much of their time to working with the Native youth population in the L.A. & surrounding areas. They focus on connecting them to their culture through singing and dancing. Their goal is to support their youth in striving to lead successful lives through a commitment to the preservation of Indian ways and traditions, the pursuit of education, and most importantly maintenance of Sobriety. This is done by promoting and living an alcohol and drug-free way of life, deeply rooted in traditional values.
The Wildhorse Singers would like to take this opportunity to thank the Oahu Intertribal Council & the Honolulu Pow Wow Committee for inviting us to be their Host Drum for this year’s 2017 43rd Annual Honolulu Intertribal Pow Wow. We enjoy and look forward to this exciting family event and are honored to serve as Host Drum.
